THREE WEEK'S (CON'T)

It seems like monsoon season goes on forever.  I like the rain when I have my umbrella.

Today I decided to pay a visit to Pachote Market...though it is more a food court now but it is close by.  The Salmon Omelet was excellent.

I was on my way to TastaVin for a nice dinner when I came across another new Hostel/Hotel, with a pool .  It was next door to another Mezcal Bar.

                                        TastaVin was good...then the rain.

Today I had lunch/breakfast at Belanc Bakery.  I needed to pick up some of their Turkish Yogurt and Bread.  It was nice but also rained on the way back.

Every Morning when I rise, I check the weather to see what hours during the day it will be raining.  Also I ,being a curious fellow, check Scottsdale weather which has had a series of pollution Alerts on and off for most of August.

It had been a few years since I visited the Moroccan Restaurant.  They moved their location to what proved a lovely upgrade.  I walked over to Carol's then on to eat some Moussaka...she had the beef I had the vegetarian. Both excellent

I got home and Texted my Uncle to wish him a Happy Birthday.  He Texted me back with Photo's of him with his Birthday Present.

Sunday is my day to visit Los Ramblas.  Salma and Arnud have been serving Seafood that is shipped in from the Bahia de California.  Unfortunately a hurricane disrupted the fishing so we had some Popcorn Shrimp then some Taco's.  Afterward we stopped into a shop so Carol could purchase a Pot for a plant and I took the bus home to my condo and adopted dog.

This morning got me walking to my favorite CafĂ© for Avocado Toast with an
Egg and Great Cappuccino.

I didn't want to leave the condo today.  Just a weird day but needed to do a walk and keep up with the exercise even a short one.  I went to the La Noria Mercado and picked up some vegetables and trash bags.  Then a stopped at Nuevo Mundo for a light breakfast...they have good coffee there!

About 8 years ago I took a photo of this Mural and had Canvas Prints made of it and put in my condo in both Oaxaca and Az.  Then it didn't have "hair"  and you could see the eyes.

When I returned I made lentil soup and took photo of the sky as the sun was setting

Today my neighbor Cheri , Carol, and I went to Belanc Bakery.  They hadn't been there this year so it was a nice treat.

Cheri needed some stamps and to pick up a package.  She has been brave and used the postal service to ship packages to her in Mexico from Texas and mails out cards to the states.  So far no problems!

Sunday I got a call from Chris.  We were to meet for Happy Hour but he wanted to visit his house in San Augustin , which I've been anxious to see.  So he picked me up mid afternoon and took me on a little tour of the area plus his home.

I have been to San Augustin many times in the past and always enjoyed it, but this was really beautiful.  The day, his home, and the surroundings.  So nice to get out into the country .  We stopped at Mixteca for dinner.  I recommended the Fried Calamari.  Not having ate all day I started stuffing my face right away!  The first bite lodged in my throat and I couldn't talk or breath.  I was in a panic and Chris immediately asked if I needed the Heimlich Maneuver as I grabbed the water and poured it into my mouth, softening the crispy Calamari and it went down.  That is the second time in my life that happened.  Never swallow without chewing and always order a glass of water first.

Yesterday Carol and I met at Los Levatura de Olla for late lunch.  I had a nice Fish and Rice dish with a Fresh Mushroom sautĂ© Tamale .  It was a very nice small restaurant but classy and reasonably priced.

THAT'S ALL FOLKS..END OF POST
