Tonight I will be attending a movie produced by my neighbor about his village that suffered a storm and everyone worked to rebuild it. He has been to Japan and Germany to accept awards for this wonderful movie. I saw the previews and now the real deal!
As luck would have it, I was going to take the bus but he was leaving with his wife and daughter so offered a ride. The movie was free and packed. Lines around the corner and to the entrance. I found a seat and after a brief presentation and talk by Yove, my neighbor and the producer, the movie started.
Today I stopped at Macha Cafe, a new Japanese cafe in my area. Wonderful Macha done right! I walked to the Zocalo while doing some shopping then met with Chris, my friend from Phoenix for Shrimp Scampi and Fresh Fish Veracruz. No photos but dark by the time we finished so I got photos of the Zocalo, all lit up to promote Mexican Independence Day coming up.
Doug Seig and his wife Kathy celebrated their 60th Anniversary...which certainly deserves mention. Congratulations!
I had Fresh Seabass with Vegetables in a great White Wine sauce at Casa Celia tonight and a Macha Expresso earlier.

Mexican Independence Day is coming up so lots of Decorations and Events for this special holiday. I visited M&M again for my Poached Eggs in Turkish yogurt with red peppers and olive oil. It took me a while to order but since then, it's become an addiction.
Love the Granola with Chia Seed Pudding and Yogurt also.
Bought a Flag to Fly on my Balcony to add to the celebration.
Portia joined me this morning back at M&M, her favorite also.
I switched to the Shakshuka from the Turkish yogurt. Had late lunch at Yuku with a Tuna Poke bowl. My server wearing a Vermont T with Moose on it.
Even though the tree died and was cut down it is still part of the sidewalk. It still commands attention when you walk.
Returned to M&M but only Granola and I had the Macha with a Swan and a heart. Stopped by the library, then later a gallery on my way to a NEW Korean Restaurant to join Chris for dinner.
Yes it is part of my diet and I love it. I won't keep duplicating one's I eat or drink frequently but the Macha with the swan and heart?
He like attention.

My hearing aide from the VA that Jeannie FedX'd to me was supposed to arrive today but didn't. I waited another day but no show. I went to the local FedX store to inquiry as to my delivery. It was in Mexico City and held up by some necessary information other than the address and name FedX in Scottsdale sent it to. They have sent 4 or 5 in the past delivered to my door with no hold up. That is why I continue to send my .4 lb package through FEDX. Gaby called them for me and they wanted my Passport information? Being held hostage, I had no choice. We emailed it to them and got no response. Needless to say, I am in a state of extreme anxiety with my trip to Europe a week away and living with one hearing aid has been a nightmare for me. I choose to go for Wine and dinner at La Jicara up the street. They featured my annual Independence Day Special. Chile de Nogada. It was the best out of all of the ones I've had but I failed to properly photo it...too hungery and frazzeled. 
Cat was overhead watching me eat but after I grabbed the camera he jumped up on the roof. Going back tomorrow night for Salmon and another order of Chili de Nogada. Happily I went home to find construction workers converting a maid's room on the roof with a storage room to create an apartment to rent. They were breaking down the concret walls with a chisel and sludge hammer. I told them to leave. They said in 3 days!
The noise level coming through the ceiling was too much. I wrote my property manager, Gaspar to report my frustration at the fact he never talked to me or any of the other tenents about it. I went to take a shower to cool off but the water was shut off and now it was getting dark so they left. MEXICO.
Today was Independance Day in Mexico so I took a walk downtown with my camera but when 100 black berets came running down the street with their weapons in hand dressed for combat with blackened cheeks. I realized my camera's battery was dead. No point in continuing so returned home to charge it. Later in the day I returned hoping to capture some of the festivities but the parade was over and all the events were down to the final taking down the flag for the day. I went to eat but the restaurants had all closed early and everyone went home...including me to eat leftovers.
I noticed an email came from FedeX. Did they send it? No they requested a give them an abd? I wrote and asked them what that was?
I went to another Fedex office this morning to ask what the hold up was and what was adb. Turns out it was the tracking number which was the SUBJECT of all my previous emails except the one asking for it...I left the last 4 numbers off of it.
I sent it and was told my package might arrive in 4-5 days!
I had breakfast at Yogolie, another favorite of mine but I don't frequent it due to choice on the menu are 90% carbs...delicious ones but CARBS. I had Eggs and Veggies with great fruit salad.
I took the Fruit home for the next day as I was having lunch with my Az. friend, Chris at Cabouche. I great Mexican restaurant but I forgot to photo my Grand Salad and Chris's Pozole, a wonderful Mexican soup with garbonzo beans.
Returning to La Jicara I choose not to have the Chili de Nogada, though it was really good but loaded with sweet fruits and nuts. Had my fill of sweets so went for the Salmon they feature. Very good.
Today my water was turned back on but my washing machine broke down for the 5th time. I really got to start looking for another place to live. Other countries appeal to me but few have the temprate climate that I enjoy in Oaxaca. My property manager is the problem along with now rising rents and limited available units within the Center. I will start looking and traveling to other places for a month or two to visit rather than move there.
My ballot for Democratic Canidate for Congress in Az arrived. I completed it but was having difficulty emailing back and didn't want to risk not voting in this election. I will take my laptop and printouts to the library where Teri, from Az volunteers her time to assist people in voting on Monday mornings.
I tried to get a round trip ticket from Amsterdam to Malta for the last 12 days of my European visit. My plan was to Visit Germany but Malta's temperate climate sounded better to end the trip with a country I have never been to. Got it!
Returned to YUKU for the best Ceviche! Also Mixed Donburi, Salmon,Eel, and Tuna on Rice. Nice meal. Another wedding and dance.
I caught the first "nice" Sunrise in months. While on the roof I checked out the noisy construction remodle on a rooftop apartment that has never been used since I've been here. There is a large open vent just over my bathroom that is in front of the apartment and any noise there sounds like it is in my apartment! Left that afternoon to meet Hector for a free buffet we managed on our last visit to Terranova. More weddings.
The buffet was excellent for $13 but ours was free. The photographer was asleep and never got the Desserts, Salads, Entrees...the lenght of the dining room!

Sunday was threatening rain and the streets were empty when I left to visit Juan at his new Tamaki Sushi Bar. He was busy. I took some photos of the area on the way.

I leave for a month in Holland and 2 weeks in Malta Sept 26th so this will be it for this long Month. I will post in Mid October from Zandvoort Holland then again at the end of the month. Then a post in mid November from Malta. Peace not War!
