MARCH into MARCH

This is a 5 minute morning sunrise from Oaxaca....

I invited Helen to join Porchie, a new friend that is renting my Fiallo apartment year round, for dinner at Tasty Vins.  I arrived early and had some Iberico Ham with my wine.  We all had Salmon and great conversation.

I celebrated the beginning of March with dinner at Casa Celia. The Grilled Cauliflower with currants, pomegranate seeds, and a lemon yogurt sauce is always great.  I tried the Chicken Cannelloni for the first time. Very good. I ate half before taking photo.

Dominoes this week ended with lunch at Santa Sabor on Murguia.
Our favorite comidas! Hands down. We started with salads then got engrossed in conversation.

Time to go shopping while Juana cleaned my condo and washes my sheets.  I stripped the bed and laid out the sheets with portion poured liquid detergent...not sure she uses a washer/dryer as it is a luxury.

I took the bus from my front door and got off a short distance from Cherdaui Market.  On the way a cute restaurant caught my attention and sucked me up to the rooftop dining area for a fantastic breakfast.
This WINNER is called Latte/Razzi and is on the north side of Heroic Military Naval School Rd two blocks from Cherdaui.

I finished my shopping and returned home to my juggling friend that never ceases to amaze me.

HE IS SO HIGH UP ON HIS BIKE ALL THE CARS CAN VIEW HIM SO HE GETS MORE MONEY

ALL DONE ON ONE WHEEL HE HAS TO ROCK BACK AND FORTH TO KEEP BALANCED WHILE JUGGLING...THAT IS A WORKOUT AND HE IS FIT.

I saw an old 1950 Ford I had to take a photo of.  I think it has a "Flat Head" 6 cylinder engine.

Today I took my daily walk down to the Zocalo and ran into Helen and Barbara on the way.  We stopped for a drink. Barb is an long time friend along with her partner Halina. They come every year  between travels from Detroit area to Poland, Crete, Caribbean, etc.

A band was playing and people were dancing Salsa

                                   MY HEARING OF LATE

MY SEX LIFE OF LATE

Many of you inquired about the costumes and how they create the painting of the body and face.  Shannon Shepard and her    View from Colibri  explains it with photos. She did another this week about the female devil's of  Carnaval  in San Martin.

Sunday I was hungry for a dinner so Del Jardin in the Zocala is always fun but limited menu for me.

                 PREPARING REPERTOIRE FOR MY DINNER

                        JUNIOR SALES CLUB OF MEXICO
A 8-9 year old boy entrepreneur sneaked in through the plants, to keep him out, trying to sell a bag.  He is determined, polite, and someday will be selling "Time Shares".

I had the Pork Cecina? It is a slice of Pork sliced then pounded out and seasoned with paprika and cayenne but mild and DRY...DRY as my napkin, CHEWY..CUT WITH GRAIN. Came with 3 fried Jalapeno peppers and onions, but not for this gringo.

THE OPERA HOUSE...BEST BUILDING IN OAXACA FOR ME

Monday and I am off to the HSBC Bank to pay for a package I ordered from Mercado Libre...the South American Amazon.  I needed some more pesos before my departure. I have to pay rent in cash so need 3 months worth to cover this and my 2 month vacation.
I left early so decided to have breakfast in Jalatlaco but couldn't find a place so headed for Casa de la Chef not to far away.

                   BROWSING FOR OUTDOOR PLANTS

View from my window. Lone parrot in cage Jacaranda Tree with purple flowers with two Bougainvilleas creeping up with their gold and pink. Another on side of my building.

                                View NOT from my window.

This morning I joined the LGBT group breakfast.  It was nice to socialize with friends and meet some new people. Miss that. The breakfast at Marco Polo was good. Lovely outdoor place with Tent cover.  Saw another model on the way home.

                       ANOTHER ASPIRING MODEL....

Mexico has some unique trees, cacti, plants, flowers, vegetables, fruits and I know little about some of them...like this tree with it's usual blossoms.

Today in International Women's Day.  I wonder what Oaxaca offers? I found out.  Around 10 women are killed every day in Mexico, and other forms of gender violence such as rape and assault are common. Another concern for many women is the absence of abortion rights in most Mexican states. Abortion is legal in just 10 of Mexico’s 31 states, as well as in Mexico City. Others
marked the day differently.

“There is something really powerful about standing in face of where all the power sits in the State. . .and you are essentially illegally standing there in your nude body because you believe in something really special,” she said.

Can you guess the country?

                                This is Oaxaca Mexico's Parade.

Started out as united Indigenous People in solidarity with Women.

The streets were cleared for the parade when woman started coming in groves from everywhere.

I had gone to dinner where I met Felicia, my new friend. Then I came out on the same street to encounter the MOB

I returned home and encountered a Corn or Tamale vendor.

Nice to relax after being home...Some can't relax..

Today I was first at the library for Dominoes but no one showed up.
I remembered Marc and Judi took off for a multi day dining experience in Mexico City. So I went to Home Depot and bought a $90 drill I might use 10 times before I die, then upon returning home discovered some new models...posing.

Gabby, my neighbor, joined me for Happy Hour at Sur a Norte for the 2x1 drink special and some tacos and Falafels.

All was good.....

Helen is leaving shortly and wanted to have a dinner together so she could say goodbye and return my yoga mat...like I use it?

We met at Casa Taviche on Hidalgo and I was pleased to see Barbara and Halina joined us.  It was like old times. We had the "Comida" starting with Tomato Soup that was outstanding, a Chicken and Vegetable Dish, dessert of Custard and Fruit...only photo was soup?
Oh yes....I had to get a photo of Halina, my favorite Polish person who always has a smile on her face and in her heart.

                      Another Parade to Celebrate Graduation?

Today I left for an Ice Cream Social at the Learning Center. Another Wedding and Modeling just down the street. Then dinner with Felicia
at Santo Sabor.

It was a fundraiser also ...so speeches and appeals were made.

                          Best Steak Arranchera in Oaxaca

Stopped by a new exhibit at San Pablo Gallery.....

Something to do with birds....I think?

This morning, the sky was overcast as the Sun rose...very different.

I left for dinner that afternoon and ...another Model...but this time I was approached by the film crew and told to stop taking photos. Um-mm.  Snobby model?

Dinner at Casa Celia was great again.  Gazpacho Andalusia and Fresh Fish Poached in a Wine Sauce with Chix Peas and Shrimp.

This morning I just went for a walk. No Model today, just a tour group.  Then a quick Breakfast/Lunch at a little Mom and Pop joint.
Chicken Enchiladas Verde Salsa with Eggs on top.  New Gallery tour.

On my return home I encountered 4 bicyclists traveling from Alaska
throughout Mexico. One lady 3 men all mid twenties?

So bright today, I could barely make out the Mountains.

20 More days and I am off to Scottsdale, California, Buffalo, and , of course...ATTICA, my home town. I will close this post and one more short one before departure.  Got to start packing.
