December 1 and a wonderful Sunrise and Sunset to start the month off. Dominos with Maddie and my neighbors Harley and Linda who moved from my old stomping ground in Rocky Point-Puerto Penasco Mexico where they lived for 10 years.
Maddie and I went from Domino's to the Optic shop to pick up my new glasses, then to lunch at Coco Beach... the best Seafood Restaurant in Reforma while it snowed in Michigan. He also posted this roofing job with snow on his blog, done by immigrants!
A fantastic work ethic and job well done! I hope you can open it. Click the following.
LHEA Bistro for breakfast/lunch again. Complimentary Non-Alcoholic fermented drink. I enjoyed a Pulled Pork Sandwich and took a open faced Pulled pork with fermented Veggie on a Memolita to Gaby after.
Pool Day with a photowalk after. I got lucky and by chance beat Bill! He just had an 80th birthday too...I think. Canadian.
Today I lunched with Bill and Enrique at Santa Sabor. Left early and was hungry so had a Cortodo and Crepe while waiting in a Cafe next door. We had a wonderful talk. It's always nice when we do get together on rare occassions. Bill is 85 + but in great shape...walks and lifts weights.
Enrique had a Tayuda, I a small stuffed Chicken and Bill had the Chicken Milenese.
Yesterday Pattie and I met at Tasty Vin near the Zocalo and she had the Pasta with Pesto, I the Salmon as usual. and we both enjoyed their Red Wine. We decided to visit the Zocalo since it was getting dark and take some photos of the night life.
I think they didn't like their photo taken...it was crowded and I was distanced but slow on the draw and they spotted me.
You've seen their Salmon and I think the Pasta dishes too.
I didn't get out of the house until 2:30 this Saturday. I was disappointed in the new prescription glasses I bought with my new script from my visit to Arizona. I am impulsive and they fit well but turned out to be heavy and hurt after 4-5 hours of wearing them. I visited two places in the last week and got quotes:
1) 3800 Frame
8000 for Progresive $650
2) 4160 Frame
9213 for Progresive $737
3) 1000 Frame
2500 for Progresive $193
It pays to scout the Internet and then pick out a recommended place away from the Tourist areas. Free with my HealthSpring Provider in the states for all of it but I did the exam too late to get the glasses before I left. I won't make that mistake again. I already paid $168 for the heavy ones.My friend Bruce and Leanne visiting Rocky Point, Mexico...still together. We used to go there almost every weekend. They stayed with me in Oaxaca a few years ago.
Saturday and Sunday are big on Weddings. This one just got out of the Church. The two men in the previous photo were next to get married and they were having there photos taken. Note that both wore identical suits to be married in but what are they holding...guess! The "Train or Trane" of both their jackets that will drape down as they march the aisle to the alter! Never saw or imagined that until today! Changing world.
Highly recommend this store for eye glasses.

LHEA Bistro breakfast this morning.
The library had my couch front and center for donation bids. 4000 pesos so far.
On my photowalk today, I noticed lines of people waiting to vote, register for something or what. The next day the same. Patient people.
Breakfast at M and M then one of the oldest churchs. The Priest honored was a spy for Grahm Green when he wrote Power and Glory. The Vatican was trying to cover up their sins but his book brought them to light.

Christmas is not far away. I took a photo walk then stop back at Yucca for another dinner there today.
Eric and Alice arrived from Michagan and settled into the spare bedroom with plans for a photo fashion shoot tomorrow. His blog of the event follows:

I departed for 10 days in Guadalajara.
I am having problems typing on my notebook and decided to use my voice. This is the first time, so bear with me. I am going to mail this out to you today, rather than wait until after the end of December. After my first dinner in guadalajara, I slept well that night and did a lot of walking the next day . Guadalajara is a large city much larger than Oaxaca. It has a lot to offer. And I plan to visit more museums and take a tour. Enjoy this blog up until today. And I will follow-up after the New Year's with the second blog. Thank you very much. Love you all and Merry Christmas.
