Veteran's Day came and went while I hiked that day. The next day I stopped at the Exotic Hamburger to try it out with a take out . Good but not worth $14 so didn't photo it.
I was wandering around Oaxaca when I encountered Peter, a long time visitor to Oaxaca. So we had lunch then I stopped at a gallery.
Sandra celebrated her birthday with her daughter Maya by hiking Bryce Canyon in Utah and shared it with me.
When I got back to my Casa, Ian and Carolyn's child knocked on my door, inviting me to join Lee's Birthday Celebration on the Roof. Who could refuse Cake baked my his daughter "Cookie Baby".
It was dark, cloudy and a full moon, after I returned full of Cake and Beer.
Slept late and played on the computer until early afternoon with only one cup of coffee so headed for a MEAL at Ayuk. My daughter visited Attica Prison...sorry Correctional Institution, to post flyers for inmates to order food and sundries from her new business. After she stopped at our family grave site to clean it a bit and pay respects to her Grandfather and Grandmother.
The following day, Bruce, another Oaxacan friend and Vietnam Vet stopped by to visit. He just returned from 2 months in Vietnam. He visited Saigon, Hanoi and Dalat. It was his first trip back since 1967, the same year I was there. He fell in love with it and even though he is a few years older than me and living in Oaxaca almost 20 years, he is studing Vietnemese and hopes to move there. We had a nice visit and were set to go to lunch...now almost 5 pm. After walking to Chepiche we discovered it closed early and nothing was open nearby so we headed for the bus stop but found a small Mexican fast food joint this woman ran out of her house to stopped for a quick cold drink and I had a Cheese and Tomato Torta.
I walked Bruce to the bus stop then visited Casa Celia for a real meal before returning home.
I had visited a new restaurant a week ago and loved the Soup and Salad I had so returned today to have an Entree of Steak Arranchera. It came cut up and Sauteed instead of just Marinated and Grilled. Tasty but not very filling. I ran into Ian and his children while there.

Off for another Mountain Hike this morning ...part of the 44 kilometer Benito Juarez trail that he walked to get to his work in the house of a Oaxaca resident. He married the daughter who wasn't even born when he went to work there at 9 years old. He married her when she was 17 and he was 39 years old. 12 children but 5 died. She was Catholic he was not and refused to enter the church so they married on the doorstep of the Church just down from the house he worked at and ended up living there after the marriage.
Back in Oaxaca at Conzatti Park
Another great Sunrise and Lunch at Ayuk....
It may not look like much but was fantastic.
Saturday I returned to Ayuk for Breakfast then took Dinner and Breakfast for Sunday home. Later that day I took a photowalk on the way to Cabouche to meet Deke who just arrived last week from Oregon. We had a late lunch of delicious Fresh Fish with Vegatables and Salad. Under $10.
Sunday evening I took a walk to Vin y Vinyl and listened to Gladys Knight and the Pips when having a favorite Linguini Bolognese and Wine. Much smaller portion and first time it was salty and lukewarm...I sent it back...very disappointing.
Christmas Tree...ready to be decorated.
I met Maddie at the pick up point for the Thanksgiving dinner in Rosario, a short ride out of Oaxaca. We sat at a table and we served fruit flavored water to accompany the meal. I got went to the bar for wine. Bread was served with a garlic, pepper and olive oil mix to put on the bread. No buffet this time. A nice Carrot Soup was served and then, the dinners were dished up in the kitchen then brought to the tables. We were next to last. I didn't get my White meat fix but enjoyed a leg, Mashed Potatoes, Dressing, Gravy and Green Beans. Dessert was Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Cake or Cheesecake with fresh berries. The Chamber Orcherstra played and we went outside with coffee. Next year I think I will go to a restaurant that features Thanksgiving dinner...almost the same price and I have a choice. It was a nice day. By the time we were served our dinner, I could only think of eating and not taking a photo! Sorry.
Today was Dominos Day and Barry, my neighbor, joined Maddie and me for a next long game. We had lunch after at Aquacate.
Walk about today...Happy Hour at Democrats Abroad...Thanksgiving tomorrow. Christmas flowers are populating the Zocalo now.I met Maddie at the pick up point for the Thanksgiving dinner in Rosario, a short ride out of Oaxaca. Stopped at Once in Oaxaca for some Cappaccino and Coffee Beans for home....so good.
This morning, the last day of November and I'm stuck waited for a Gas delivery. Ran out 5 days ago! No hot water or stove to cook on. The day is near over and so is the month. Off to Zipolete next week...the only public nude beach in Mexico. I will relax there for a week then spend a couple days in Puerto Escondido to EAT SEAFOOD!!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
